This month FPS has launched a guide for operators seeking to cut fuel use from temperature-controlled fleets. Transport refrigeration units (TRUs) can consume between 10% and 20% of a fleet’s overall fuel consumption as well as contributing to local air quality and noise issues.
The guide explains how electrical infrastructure and TRU standby modes can be used to cut fuel use and provides calculators so that fleets can test the economics for both plugging in and switching to smarter solutions like TRU Fuel Saver.
