The consortium comprises 2 Universities, 15 Fleet Operators, 5 Truck manufacturers, a software management company, a charge point network operator and an EV solutions provider. Together they have formed a three year initiative entitled:

Project JOLT – Joint Operators Logistics Trial.

They run a self-funded eHGV trials programme to inform the industry’s path to net zero. The project involves a combination of operator owned vehicles and an OEM supplied test fleet and charging equipment that is deployed with the operators for 3 month test periods.

Data is collected from the trials via FPS’ Operate platform then analysed by University of Cambridge specialists. The results are shared with the wider consortium to aid in their EV transition planning through offering a wider range of data than they would be able to collect themselves and University of Cambridge engineering expertise.

This month the trials are entering their third rotation with Welch Group and DP World Southampton Ports following successful deployments with John Lewis, William Jackson Food and DP World.
